Dave has been running the Leicester Half Marathon since 2016. He had previously ran for no other reason than a hobby, but this year something changed. Dave’s Dad, Billy, was diagnosed with late stage Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and given just a year to live.
“Having both my Gran and Father-in-Law succumb to this vile disease, and seen first hand the work that Macmillan did with helping my Mum care for Gran in the later stages of her life, it was a no-brainer to raise much needed funds for Macmillan.
I’ll be running with my Wife, Brother-in-Law and his partner for support. Hopefully my Mum and Dad will be cheering me over the finish line. I’ve always been proud of myself for running the Leicester Half Marathon but this time I’ll be proud to run in the Macmillan colours and help raise money for them!”
