The Run Leicester Festival will showcase our wonderful city like never before. Home to an incredible running community, Run Leicester will see thousands of runners take to the streets of our wonderful city across different distances in celebration of all things running. Soak up the race day atmosphere by taking part in the Run Leicester Marathon and Half Marathon, or cover a shorter distance as part of a relay team.

Starting and finishing at the picturesque backdrop of Leicester’s leafy Victoria Park, the much-loved half marathon and 10k routes will guide you through the streets and parks of the city centre, offering a scenic experience.
Whether you’re a seasoned runner or contemplating your first-ever half marathon, the Run Leicester Festival is tailor-made for you. The inclusive nature of the event ensures that participants of all levels can enjoy the excitement.
It’s not just about the run at the Run Leicester Festival, every step you take holds significance. All proceeds from the event are donated to our official charity partner, LOROS Hospice. Your participation directly contributes to the specialised care of thousands of terminally ill patients and their families, making each stride a meaningful one.

So, what’s new?
Run Leicester is a complete re-invention of the Leicester Marathon and Half Marathon with a renewed focus on creating a fantastic race atmosphere for all. Later this year, we’ll be announcing a newly revised route, taking in more of Leicester’s iconic sites in the city centre. Expect entertainment to keep you going all around the route, and look forward to being welcomed back into our newly re-designed race arena on Victoria Park.
Get involved
The Run Leicester Festival is not just for runners. Everybody is welcome to soak up the atmosphere and be a part of the big day. Be inspired, show your support by cheering and enjoy a day of entertainment throughout the route.
You could even go the extra mile if you find yourself with time to spare. We are always looking for eager volunteers to help make the event a success. From marshalling or handing out medals and water on the day, to championing the event in the community and recruiting racers, we want to hear from you!
