In October 2021, Kerry Davidson’s Mum died at LOROS Hospice. Kerry’s Dad also passed away in 2015 who was also cared for in his last few days by LOROS.
“Following the death of my Dad, my family were extremely grateful to LOROS for the exceptional care and support they had provided him in his final days. We really wanted to help LOROS to continue with their amazing work and therefore arranged our own fundraising events and also supported events arranged by the LOROS fundraising team. My Mum utilised her passion for knitting by creating an endless stream of soft toys for raffles. Additionally, in 2016 my family and I completed the Great North Run in aid of LOROS.”
“My Mum started to become poorly in 2019 and her prognosis was not good. She told my sister and I that when her time came her wish was to be cared for by LOROS and we were fortunate enough to be able to ensure that her wish was granted. My mum only spent a few short days at LOROS before she passed away. LOROS ensured that both my mum and our family were cared for amazingly and was made as comfortable as possible.”
“I want to continue giving back to LOROS and that is why I have signed up for Run Leicester alongside my husband. Our sons have promised to be supporting us on the day with lots of cheer and hopefully jelly babies! It is going to be an emotional one, but I am sure that my Mum and Dad will be looking down on us with absolute pride.”
