Edgar’s Gift provides gifts, experiences and holidays to young adults suffering from cancer. The charity was founded in 2010 in memory of Ben ‘Edgar’ Edkins who passed aged 25 after a yearlong battle with a rare sarcoma cancer. We are a completely voluntary team of trustees so every penny you kindly help to raise for us goes directly towards providing the gifts, experiences and holidays. Since forming we have helped and supported over 500 patients.
We work with Leicestershire nurses to understand patients that could be helped by our services.
Gifts are individual to patient requests (aged 18-40 with a cancer diagnosis). For example, iPads to keep in contact with family while in hospital or gym memberships to rebuild strength post-treatment. It can be anything that helps.
Holidays at our luxury caravan in Mablethorpe Haven Golden Sands resort are for any age with a cancer diagnosis and we also consider recently bereaved families of a cancer patient to help as much as we can.
